Root fillings
At the core of each tooth is a mass of soft tissue called the pulp, which contains nerves, cells, fibres and bloody supply, extending into the root canal. When the pulp becomes infected, this is a problem. A root fillingsis a cost-effective way to treat teeth that have damaged pulp sections. It is a preferable and very effective treatment as it can save the tooth in about 90 percent of cases. Root fillings, also known as root canal treatment, involves removing the damaged pulp, cleaning and disinfecting the root canal and fillings it with a substance called gutta percha.
